Bag finished – pocket still missing

Here is my finished bag. All the materials except the lining, zip, magnetic snap closure, zip and flower embellishment, were from my challenge bag. I still have some things left: more fabric, tyvek and some small ceramic tiles which I will try to use in another project. The bag handles are made from machine embroidered […]

Happy Easter

This is the KL bag from the workshop  a few weeks ago. Kaye adapted it from a style she saw in KL – apparently popular with the young night clubbers. The wrap around handles make it a more secure bag. I think if I made it again, I would line the handles.

Going back

I’m getting ready for Fibres West at the moment and 1 of the things I have to do is prepare a 15 minute slide show of my work. All of the pics in this post are from more than 10 years ago when I was a student at Curtin University. They were slides which I’ve […]

Bags & Banksia Print

My bags all packed, labeled and delivered today – Hurray! Now I have to get to work on my piece of Designing Women’s entry in the WAFTA exhibition. The print of Banksia leaves on my print table is for the back of it but it needs to be a bit more muted so I’ll probably […]

Exhibition preview

Just a peak at some of my bags for the Head & Shoulders exhibition which opens at The Old Bakery on 8th Gallery on Sunday. It’s all about hats, wraps and scarves and shoulder bags. I’ve concentrated on bags this time – just about finished. Love making the fabric and designing the bags but I […]

Back to work

A couple of textile pics in between the holiday snaps! We went to a wedding on Saturday and I didn’t have an evening bag so I embellished an old quilted bag I had by free stitching the swirls on the flap, zigzagging over the cord and adding the flower which was made by wrapping metallic […]
