I’m back from 2 weeks in Darwin!

These are a few of the pics from DH’s camera. We were in a small boat on the Adelaide River, about a metre away from this 4 metre wild crocodile which is jumping out of the water to catch a piece of meat. I wasn’t sorry when this part of the tour ended and we were back on dry land. There were loads of crocodiles in the river.

Above: a popular swimming spot in Lichfield National Park – I’m 1 of the people about to go in the water. No crocodiles here thankfully – it was cold at first but really lovely swimming in such a wonderful place.

A cathedral termite mound – also in Lichfield.

Silhouetted Pandanus palms at dusk.
Darwin is fortunate that it is situated on a peninsular, surrounded by the harbour. This was taken outside the art gallery and museum.

Darwin’s new waterfront area which is still developing. You can swim at the beach and there’s also a wave pool a bit further along.

Northern Territory’s parliament house.

Smith Street Mall – the main shopping street. I think it must have been a weekend – it looks a bit deserted!

I’ll post some more pics next time.

While we were away the Online Quilt Magazine was published with my article appearing. The magazine comes out each month and only costs $10 for a year. They also have a smaller free version. You can find out about it by clicking on the link.

  1. Well, who wouldn’t love to have a big crock jump up in their face. He is just getting to know you. Congratulations on your magazine article. Nice pictures, by the way.

  2. Well this brings back memories.. Darwin is where I met my hubby! Where I saw a croc jumping ( his name was Chonky) when I was 15! Many happy memories… thankyou..
